Our Mission
Iceland is an island where resourcefulness and resilience has always been key to survival. Our nation’s relationship with the sea is an enduring one. Although the Arctic Ocean is remote, it is far from resistant to pollution. Research shows that deep ocean currents carry plastic particles into the Arctic from all over the world.
We want to bring people’s awareness and attention to this important issue. At the same time, we want to encourage more women to sail and support getting their voices heard, professional sailors and amateurs.

Lady Liberty Regatta 2023
As the only all female Icelandic crew Seiglurnar are invited to take part in the Lady Liberty Regatta 2023 held by the Manhattan Yacht Club in September.
The purpose of the event is to support and promote women's sailing by bringing together top women teams from around the world for a thrilling adventure at the footsteps of the Lady Liberty in New York.

The all female cruise 2021
During summer of 2021 we sailed around Iceland with over 40 women with us on a Bavaria 50ft. We covered over 1.800 nautical miles and the project was a true success, both in media as well as among the ladies that joined us. We had wonderful times and many women continued sailing after this event, joined courses and finished their licenses for sailing. Here, the story is covered on our homepage and in the media.
